Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - Tolleson, Raymond James, Others

Tolleson Wealth Management, the RIA referred to elsewhere today in this news service, has promoted one of its senior figures, Royce Ramey, to the newly-minted role of chief experience officer. It’s a post from which he will oversee how clients’ interactions with the business is kept at a high level. 

Ramey will sit on the firm’s governing CEO Council and will be responsible for the strategic integration of service lines while ensuring team members have the training, technology, and support to deliver a seamless client experience.

That such a role is being created highlights how managing the client experience is not a nebulous area but a vital one at a time when COVID-19, digital disruption and changing wealth patterns make client satisfaction and retention urgent priorities.

“Royce has contributed significantly to Tolleson Wealth Management’s growth and success over the last 10 years, and this new role will allow him to focus even more time and energy on ensuring that every client interaction is thoughtful and aligned with our brand,” Richard Joyner, president of Tolleson Wealth Management, said.

“Client service remains the pinnacle of our approach to wealth management. We spent the last few years investing in our technology and modernizing communications so that we can bring these important elements together in a way that positively impacts the client experience.”

Ramey will also remain responsible for the oversight and management of Tolleson Wealth Management’s multi-disciplinary client advisory team that engages directly with clients on their financial and planning needs. 

Prior to joining Tolleson Wealth Management in 2010, Ramey provided family office services to ultra-high net worth families at GenSpring Family Offices in the Phoenix, Arizona area. He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of business administration in finance and master of science in finance from Texas Tech University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and its Dallas-Fort Worth Society.
 
Raymond James
Raymond James has welcomed financial advisor Sid Grant to its independent advisor channel.

Grant, who has joined from Wells Fargo Advisors, where he managed more than $230 million in client assets, manages the new RJFS Abilene branch in Texas. He has been in the financial services industry for 26 years. 

Prior to joining Raymond James, he was the managing director at Wells Fargo Advisors in Abilene, where he worked for more than 20 years. He is a graduate of Howard Payne University.
 


Rockefeller
Rockefeller Capital Management has appointed David Eder as a senior vice president and private wealth advisor, based in its Greenwich, Connecticut office.

Eder is accompanied by Augustin Delgado, who will serve as a VP and private wealth analyst at the US firm. They previously worked at JP Morgan Securities in White Plains and specialize in managing comprehensive investment needs for wealthy individuals and their families.

Elder has been in the financial services industry since 1995. He began his career as an institutional trader where the industry then inspired him to move to the wealth management side. He attended the Peddie School in Princeton, New Jersey and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BA in international relations. 

Delgado joined Rockefeller this month. He began his career in financial services while enrolled at Baruch College by interning with JP Morgan Chase. After graduating he joined Morgan Stanley in their asset management research division. A few years later, Augie decided to return to academia to get his MBA from Fordham University where he graduated magna cum laude. After Fordham, he returned to JP Morgan where he spent almost a decade working in various wealth management roles.  

Argent Trust Company
Argent Trust Company has promoted Chris Holtzclaw to the role of chief fiduciary officer of its west region, which includes Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. Holtzclaw previously served as corporate counsel for Argent Financial Group and a trust officer in the Ruston office of Argent Trust.     

Holtzclaw will oversee trust administrators, investment officers and coordinate with the wealth management division to ensure customers’ needs are met while maintaining profitability and adherence to regulations. Holtzclaw will report to Reid Harrell, chief executive of Argent Trust Company.   

Before joining Argent, Holtzclaw served as vice president and assistant compliance officer at Progressive Bank in Monroe, Louisiana. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Louisiana Tech University and his Juris Doctorate from the Mississippi College School of Law. Holtzclaw is licensed to practice law in the state of Louisiana and is an active member of the Trust and Estates Section of the Louisiana Bar. 
 
Citizens Bank
Clarfeld | Citizens Private Wealth, a subsidiary of US-based Citizens Bank, late last week announced a number of senor moves. The moves follow Rick Suarez’s appointment as chief executive in January this year. 

Michael Hans, chief investment officer, has been promoted to director of investment services. In addition to his responsibilities as CIO and chair of the investment policy committee, Hans now is responsible for leadership of the entire investment practice including governance, strategy and enhancing the overall client investment experience. Hans has been with Clarfeld for more than seven years.

Joan Bozek, has joined Clarfeld as chief fiduciary officer and director of trust services. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the firm’s trust company, an integral part of its high net worth offering, including building on its existing and prospective talent pipeline and creating a trust offering for clients. She brings 25-plus years of experience within the fiduciary services business, having previously held senior positions at People’s United Bank, Prudential and Merrill Lynch.

Both will report directly to Suarez.

Clarfeld | Citizens Private Wealth is based in Tarrytown, New York. The business is the result of Clarfeld Financial Advisors, LLC, joining forces with Citizens Bank in 2019.
